August 10, 2011 - The Mandatory Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting deadline of September 30, 2011 is fast approaching for power generation facilities. With the e-GGRT tool not yet fully functional and very little communication from the EPA, facilities may be wondering how the details of this initial report are going to work. There are two ways in which facilities will be able to report their GHG emissions for the 2010 calendar year: importing XML reports generated from an XML reporting tool or manually reporting via web forms. For facilities planning to use their CEMS DAHS to generate the XML reports, Southshore recommends contacting your CEMS DAHS vendor to verify that 40 CFR 98, Subpart C emission units will also be included in the XML reports. For manual reporting, facilities will be required to calculate GHG emissions from each applicable emissions unit as outlined in their GHG Monitoring Plan.
